Classes suspended in parts of Luzon due to Florita

Classes were suspended in several parts of Luzon on Tuesday due to Severe Tropical Storm Florita.

In Zambales, Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. ordered the suspension of classes at all levels as heavy rains continued.

Quezon province also declared a class suspension with towns under TCWS No. 1 prioritizing student safety.

Rizal suspended kindergarten and nursery classes while Ilocos Norte halted classes and work in government agencies, exempting first responders.

Florita intensified into a severe tropical storm, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kph near the center.
