Five HVIs among arrestees in Parañaque drug raids

Five suspects, including five high-value individuals (HVIs), were arrested in anti-drug operations in Parañaque City early Tuesday morning and again on Thursday.

The arrests took place during a buy-bust operation inside a condominium unit where authorities confiscated PHP3.2 million worth of suspected illegal drugs earlier this week, while another PHP2 million worth of narcotics was seized along Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Barangay San Dionisio.

Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting director of the Southern Police District (SPD), identified the suspects from Tuesday's operation as alias Christian and Symon, both HVIs, along with Renmer, Jackylyn, and Christine, all classified as street-level individuals (SLIs).

In Thursday’s operation, police arrested Lex, Yans, Ali, and Giann, who were operating under various aliases.

The seized items included 200 grams of ketamine, 1,000 grams of marijuana kush, 500 grams of dried marijuana leaves, and 791 pieces of ecstasy tablets from Tuesday’s operation, while Thursday's seizure yielded six heat-sealed plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing over 300 grams.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin emphasized the police force's commitment to combating illegal drug proliferation in the NCR.

The suspects are now under police custody facing charges for violating Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 before the Parañaque City Prosecutor's Office.
