Anti-drug ops net 11 kg shabu, PHP74M worth, in Sorsogon

Anti-drug operatives in Legazpi City seized 11 kilograms of suspected shabu worth around PHP74 million and arrested two individuals during an operation at Matnog Port in Sorsogon on Saturday.

The suspects, identified as 'Jam,' 34, from Manila, and 'Sal,' 19, from Lanao del Sur, were en route to the Visayas with no specific destination known.

Operatives found 11 vacuum-sealed plastic packs marked 'Very Good' along with drug paraphernalia and a white pickup truck during the arrest.

The operation was based on an intelligence report received from the National Capital Region, with support provided by PDEA-Bicol.

Both suspects will face charges under Section 5 of Republic Act 9165 for transporting dangerous drugs.
