PDEA-BARMM busts shabu den, arrests five

Anti-narcotics agents seized P102,000 worth of shabu and arrested five drug den operators in an entrapment operation in Barangay Poblacion Mother, COTABATO CITY on Thursday, August 21.

The suspects were identified as Datu Rasid Candao Emba, Marlon Juliano Mangulon, Zalcarnain Karnain Talib, Joharto Mingka Tuan, and Abduracman Nongka Guimaludin after selling 15 grams of shabu to undercover operatives during a sting.

The operation was coordinated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) with assistance from the Cotabato City Police Office under Col. Jibin Bongcayao.

Director Gil Cesario Castro of PDEA-BARMM thanked Mayor Bruce Matabalao and other officials for their support during the operation.

Mayor Matabalao directed barangay leaders to assist in building a strong case against the suspects, noting that operating a drug den is a non-bailable offense under Philippine law.

The drug den has been shut down and is now being monitored by barangay officials and community volunteers.
