Filipinos fully vaccinated against COVID-19 reaches 20M

As of Monday, September 27, at least 20 million Filipinos are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, representing 26.33% of the country's population.

A total of 43.9 million doses have been administered nationwide, with Metro Manila receiving around 15.4 million doses and having 71.86% of its population fully vaccinated.

The government aims to vaccinate 90% of the 110 million Filipinos by the end of Q1 2022 to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19, but vaccine hesitancy remains a challenge, especially among the elderly in both rural and urban areas.

Three million doses of Sinovac vaccines arrived on Sunday night and will be distributed to regions outside NCR as part of the government's recalibrated vaccine deployment strategy.
