DOH reports 102 backlog deaths, 18K new infections

On Tuesday, September 28, the DOH reported an additional 102 deaths from a data backlog, bringing the national death toll to 37,596.

The delay was due to server issues in the COVIDKaya system from September 23 to 26, affecting the encoding and validation process of fatalities.

On Monday, September 27, the DOH reported 18,449 new cases, pushing the total case count to 2,509,177 with active cases at 158K.

The previous day, from September 24-25, no deaths were reported due to technical issues in COVIDKaya; however, recoveries and new cases continued to be reported.
