Quiambao's 20-point performance keys DLSU's win over UP, 68-56

Kevin Quiambao led De La Salle University to a 68-56 victory over the University of the Philippines in UAAP Season 87 on Sunday evening, cementing DLSU's top position with a 6-1 record after seven games.

Quiambao scored 20 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out three assists, while Josh David added 14 points and seven boards for DLSU, which remains atop the team standings.

UP's comeback bid fell short as they were down by 13 at halftime but managed to narrow the gap in the third quarter before La Salle pulled away late in the game with a decisive seven-to-nothing run.

Assistant coach Gian Nazario stressed the importance of continued improvement, while Quiambao emphasized focusing on team dynamics and system consistency moving forward.

Despite his impressive individual statistics, Quiambao remains committed to supporting his teammates and maintaining DLSU's strong performance throughout the season.
