NU Lady Bulldogs beat La Salle, end 5-game losing streak

National University's Lady Bulldogs ended their five-game losing streak against La Salle on Sunday night, securing a crucial victory in the second round of Season 86 of the UAAP women's volleyball tournament.

Bella Belen, NU's charismatic star and first-ever Rookie of the Year-Most Valuable Player (ROY-MVP), expressed confidence in her team’s ability to perform well despite La Salle’s struggles without Angel Canino.

National University strengthened their bid for a top-two finish with a 22-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-22 victory over La Salle before an enthusiastic crowd of more than 11,000 fans at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

With only three games left for National and four for La Salle, Sunday's match could determine second place and a crucial semifinal edge as the teams compete for their final standings.

Santo Tomas and La Salle will still clash at the end of the elimination round, with the battle between the Golden Tigresses and the Lady Spikers potentially deciding the second twice-to-beat spot if National University sweeps their remaining games.
