NU defends UAAP women's volleyball title with five-set win over FEU

National University (NU) defended its title by defeating Far Eastern University (FEU) in a five-set thriller, 25-15, 23-25, 24-26, 25-23, and 15-8, to remain unbeaten at 3-0 in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament on Sunday.

Alyssa Solomon led NU with a dominant performance, scoring 23 points off 19 kills and four blocks, while Bella Belen added 21 points including seven aces and 13 spikes.

FEU fell behind in the first set but fought back to take a two-set lead over NU before losing in the decisive fifth set.

Jean Asis of FEU led her team with a team-high 20 points off 16 kills, three blocks, and an ace, despite the loss.

The Lady Tamaraws dropped to a 1-2 record after this loss and will look to bounce back against Ateneo Blue Eagles in their next match.
