FEU beats UST in straight sets, ends 5-game winning streak

Far Eastern University (FEU) ended University of Santo Tomas' perfect record with a victory in straight sets, winning 25-21, 25-23, 25-23 on Saturday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Jean Asis and Jazlyn Ellarina led FEU to its fourth consecutive win overall, boosting their chances of securing a twice-to-beat privilege in the Shakey's Super League Collegiate Preseason Championship.

UST dropped to a 1-1 record after losing their five-game winning streak; FEU will face Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday at 4 p.m., while UST battles University of the Philippines at 1 p.m.

De La Salle University remained unbeaten with a victory over University of the East, 23-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-16, led by Shevana Laput's game-high 20 points; La Salle will play against College of Saint Benilde on Wednesday to maintain its undefeated streak.

The league announced that it will donate a portion of ticket sales from October 26 to 30 to the victims of severe tropical storm Kristine.
