FEU secures second straight win over UE in UAAP women's volleyball

Far Eastern University (FEU) secured their second consecutive victory in UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament by defeating winless University of the East Lady Warriors with a score of 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 at Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday.

Gerz Petallo led FEU with a game-high 12 points, while Chen Tagaod and Mitzi Panangin each added 11 points; Tin Ubaldo distributed 13 excellent sets in the match.

FEU's strong performance included 42 attack points, seven service aces, and six blocks compared to UE's 38 attacks, two aces, and five blocks.

Khy Cepada and Nessa Bangayan each scored 14 points for UE, which dropped their record to 0-5.

FEU head coach Tina Salak expressed optimism about her team’s chances of returning to the Final Four with a winning trend but acknowledged that upcoming games against Adamson and La Salle will be challenging.

The Lady Tamaraws are set to face the Adamson Lady Falcons led by rookie star Shaina Nitura on Saturday, March 8.
