Duterte certifies bills for vaccine indemnity fund as urgent

President Rodrigo Duterte has certified two bills seeking to establish a vaccine indemnity fund and fast track the procurement of vaccines as urgent.

Senate Bill No. 2057 aims to expedite the purchase and rollout of COVID-19 vaccines and establish a P500-million indemnification fund, while House Bill No. 8648 authorizes local government units to give advance payments for vaccines.

Senator Bong Go had previously asked Duterte to certify the proposed COVID-19 Vaccine Indemnification Fund Law as urgent due to delays in vaccine rollout.
