Duterte orders DSWD sole charge of SAP distribution, taps military

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to take sole charge of distributing emergency subsidies under the Social Amelioration Program (SAP).

Duterte directed DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista to use solely his department's resources for distribution, citing concerns over irregularities.

The President also instructed Bautista to seek assistance from the military to ensure swift and efficient delivery of cash aid to low-income households affected by the pandemic.
