Duterte finalizes Cebu City's ECQ until June 30

President Duterte announced that Cebu City will remain under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until June 30.

Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella plans to appeal to the Inter-Agency Task Force for a reclassification to general community quarantine (GCQ).

The decision is final and cannot be modified before June 30, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Under ECQ, public transportation is banned, non-essential shops are closed, and residents are prohibited from non-essential travel.

Cebu City was placed under ECQ due to a spike in COVID-19 cases and widespread community transmission.
