Leyte town suspends accepting returning residents, locks down community

The local government of Kananga, Leyte has suspended the acceptance of returning residents due to full capacity at quarantine facilities.

On June 16, the Department of Health confirmed Kananga's first coronavirus case, leading Mayor Manuel Vicente Torres to place Sitio Kawayan in Rizal village under lockdown starting from June 17.

The lockdown will remain until further notice and restricts residents from leaving their homes except for essential workers and services.
