Co-passengers of nCoV cases show symptoms

Some co-passengers of the two Chinese nationals who tested positive for the novel coronavirus (nCoV) have shown flu-like symptoms.

As of Thursday, February 6, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) reported that three out of 23 contacted passengers from Cebu Pacific flight DG 6519 showed respiratory infection symptoms.

Additionally, three other passengers from Philippine Airlines flight PR 2542 are under quarantine.

The Department of Health (DOH) has assessed 203 contacts, with 188 placed under home quarantine and 14 isolated for monitoring.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III criticized airlines like Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines for the slow contact tracing process due to confidentiality concerns.
