Malay bars entry of travelers with recent China visits

Malay, Aklan has temporarily barred entry for all persons with travel history to China or its special administrative regions Hong Kong and Macao within the last 14 days.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Malay adopted a resolution requesting the town mayor to issue an executive order implementing these measures.

As of February 5, over 300 Chinese tourists are under monitoring in Boracay; this number has decreased from around 2,000 due to cancelled direct flights from China and its special regions.

Hotels and resorts have guidelines for handling the monitored tourists, including protocols for identifying potential cases requiring hospitalization.
