DPWH: Over P145-M damage in Region 13 from Agaton

Over PHP145 million worth of infrastructure damage caused by Tropical Depression Agaton was reported in Region 13 as of Wednesday.

Roads and bridges were the most affected with PHP118.390 million and PHP27 million respectively.

Eight out of thirty-seven road sections have been reopened to traffic, while twenty-nine remain closed due to flooding, soil slope collapse, soil erosion, landslide, and rockslide.

DPWH Secretary Roger Mercado stated that engineers, maintenance crews, and equipment are on the ground for monitoring and restoration activities.

As of Tuesday, 35 roads in seven regions were affected by Agaton with sixteen national road sections closed to all types of vehicles due to flooding, landslide, and road cut.

Nineteen roads had limited access, but six have been cleared and reopened by DPWH Quick Response Teams.
