DOLE distributes P5,000 aid to over 500k workers

As of May 1, more than half a million workers affected by the coronavirus lockdown have received P5,000 cash assistance from DOLE.

DOLE has distributed over P2.6 billion under its COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) to 522,855 beneficiaries and over P993 million under TUPAD disinfection/sanitation project to 313,700 informal sector workers.

DOLE realigned PHP1.5 billion from its budget on April 29 to provide more funds for an additional 300,000 workers already processed under CAMP, bringing the total target beneficiaries to nearly 650,000 with P3.24 billion in assistance.

DOLE has distributed PHP183.04 million to on-site OFWs and PHP99.18 million to repatriated OFWs as of April 27 under its assistance program for overseas Filipino workers.
