OWWA: Over 12K cash aid applications for displaced OFWs approved

Over 12,000 applications for cash assistance under the DOLE-Abot Kamay ang Pagtulong (AKAP) program have been approved for displaced OFWs as of April 24.

OWWA Administrator Hans Cacdac stated that approximately 30,000 applications have been approved in total, both locally and abroad.

In Davao Region, OWWA has released PHP4.2 million to 420 out of 550 qualified beneficiaries since April 13.

OWWA also reported on Thursday that 304 OFWs in Calabarzon received PHP3.04 million under the DOLE-AKAP program.

Additionally, 166 OFWs in Central Luzon have received PHP1.6 million as part of the same initiative.
