DOJ: 30K COVID-19 jabs for PDLs in BuCor facilities

The government has allocated at least 30,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines for persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) under BuCor custody.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra announced that the National Vaccination Operations Center will distribute the vaccines to various BuCor-administered prison facilities within two to three days.

BuCor will provide its own vaccinators for the inoculations.

Guevarra had previously requested vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. to allocate doses for PDLs, and Galvez endorsed the request to Health Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje.
