Philippines negotiates for 90M vaccine doses in 2022

The Philippine government is in talks with vaccine manufacturers for the procurement of at least 90 million doses needed in 2022.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that these doses will primarily cover booster shots, while vaccines for first and second doses will come from supplies purchased through deals secured this year.

Galvez mentioned that negotiations are ongoing with companies such as AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and the Gamaleya Research Institute.

The government is also expecting its order of 30 million doses from Novavax, which recently received emergency approval in the Philippines.
