Philippines vaccinates 10M against COVID-19

As of December 9, the Philippines has vaccinated 10.2 million individuals against COVID-19 during an extended vaccination drive from November 29 to December 3.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. noted this is the highest five-day average since vaccinations began in March.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque III aims to fully vaccinate at least 90% of the population, or about 99 million Filipinos, before President Duterte's term ends in June 2022.

On December 8 and December 6, over one million doses each of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines arrived in the Philippines, bringing the total number of vaccine deliveries to 146.5 million.
