Philippines allocates P2.5B for COVID-19 vaccines in 2021 budget

The Philippines has allocated PHP2.5 billion in its proposed 2021 budget for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines, targeting around 3.8 million poor Filipinos.

The Department of Health (DOH) seeks a total of PHP13 billion under its proposed 2021 budget specifically for the country's COVID-19 response efforts and health system resilience programs.

This includes PHP2.5 billion for vaccine procurement, with plans to vaccinate approximately 20 million Filipinos, prioritizing frontliners and indigent senior citizens.
