DOH continues talks with Pfizer, Moderna, Russian vaccine makers

The Department of Health (DOH) is continuing talks with Pfizer, Moderna, and Russian vaccine developers to procure coronavirus vaccines.

During these discussions, Pfizer stated they will not conduct Phase 3 clinical trials in the Philippines but aim to complete them by October.

Vergeire mentioned that confidentiality disclosure agreements were a major topic during the meetings, alongside regulatory processes for vaccine approval.

The DOH is also set to meet separately with representatives from the Russian Embassy and American drug giant Pfizer, joined by officials from the Office of the President and Department of Foreign Affairs.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire emphasized that negotiations with multiple manufacturers are beneficial and not exclusive.
