DBM: Gov't saved P2B on COVID-19 medical supplies

The Philippine government saved around P2 billion on essential medical supplies purchased for the DOH's COVID-19 response.

According to the DBM’s Procurement Service report, these savings were achieved by purchasing test kits and other medical supplies at a lower price than initially approved.

From March 26 to August 5, the difference between the allocated budget and the actual purchase prices from local and foreign suppliers amounted to about P2 billion.
