PCHRD: Vaccine availability depends on gov't negotiations with developers

The availability of an effective COVID-19 vaccine for the Philippines depends on government negotiations with developers, even if the country participates in clinical trials.

Dr Jaime Montoya from PCHRD said during a House panel deliberation that while there is no assurance when an effective vaccine will be available, it will eventually be accessible to Filipinos.

Montoya emphasized that joining clinical trials does not guarantee immediate vaccine supply for the Philippines, as developers will make vaccines available based on their own timelines.
