DOH reports 1,984 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,984 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, October 21, bringing the active case tally to 24,192.

This is an increase from Thursday's report of 2,227 new cases and an active tally of 23,721.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Philippines now stands at 3,991,441 with recoveries reaching 3,903,543 and deaths totaling 63,706.

Metro Manila remains the region with the highest infections over the past two weeks, followed by Calabarzon, Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and Davao Region.

The bed occupancy rate in the country is at 26.5%, with 7,542 beds occupied and 20,946 vacant.
