DOH: PH daily average of new Covid cases down by 22%

The Department of Health (DOH) reported a total of 11,995 new COVID cases from October 17 to 23, marking a 22% decrease compared to the previous week.

The daily average dropped to 1,714 cases, down from 2,188 in the prior week.

Four cases were classified as severe or critical, reducing the total active severe cases to 650.

An additional 272 deaths were recorded, with 26 occurring between October 10 and 23.

ICU utilization decreased from 25% to 23.1%, while non-ICU bed usage slightly dropped from 26.8% to 26.4%.

To date, approximately 94.09% of the country's target population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
