DOH supports prioritizing NCR and eight other areas for vax rollout

On Tuesday, May 25, the DOH clarified its support for prioritizing the National Capital Region (NCR) and eight other areas for the Covid-19 vaccination program.

The agency stated that these regions are at highest risk due to population density and size, with economic and social implications tied to health outcomes.

Contrary to reports suggesting rejection, Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire's previous statement on May 24 was in response to a proposal allocating 90% of vaccines to the NCR Plus region, which she found impractical due to unstable vaccine supplies.
