Dizon inspects NAIA for Holy Week influx, BI deploys extra staff

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon announced that approximately 150,000 to 157,000 passengers are expected to travel through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) daily during the Holy Week period.

Dizon, along with officials from New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), Manila International Airport Authority, and Bureau of Immigration (BI), inspected NAIA Terminal 3 on Tuesday to assess readiness for the influx.

Additional personnel were assigned at check-in counters to manage long queues, and BI deployed 48 extra staff to facilitate faster immigration processing during Holy Week.

Restrooms at NAIA have been fixed to maintain cleanliness and availability during this busy period, and dedicated counters for overseas Filipino workers have been opened in Terminal 3.

All transportation facilities including seaports and bus terminals are on high alert throughout Holy Week to ensure safety and convenience for travelers.

The Philippine Coast Guard announced it would be on heightened alert from April 13 to April 20, in preparation for the expected influx of sea travelers heading to the provinces.
