BI deploys extra officers for Holy Week travel

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) will deploy over 40 additional officers to international airports nationwide amid an expected surge in travelers during Holy Week.

BI spokesperson Dana Krizia M. Sandoval said the bureau has opened a dedicated wing at NAIA Terminal 3 for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to expedite immigration processing, which can handle approximately 3,000 OFWs daily.

Sandoval advised passengers to arrive at least three to four hours before their flights to avoid delays.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), and Philippine National Police (PNP) are also stepping up measures to manage increased traffic, ensure public safety, and reduce travel delays during Holy Week.

Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday (April 13) and ends on Easter Sunday (April 20).
