PPA projects 1.73M port users, NAIA sees up to 851 Palm Sunday flights

Authorities project around three million travelers will use seaports and Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during Holy Week as Filipinos embark on religious pilgrimages, vacations, and family reunions.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) anticipates 1.73 million port users from April 14 to 20, a rise of 3.5% compared to the previous year.

NAIA expects an influx of travelers with up to 851 flights scheduled for Palm Sunday and will implement additional measures such as assistance desks manned by airport personnel, medical teams, and uniformed officers to manage increased traffic.

The Department of Health (DOH) has initiated a Code White Alert from April 13 to April 20 to ensure readiness for any medical emergencies during the peak travel period.
