PHP100B SAP aid to be distributed via e-transfers

The government plans to distribute PHP100 billion for the second Social Amelioration Program (SAP) aid primarily through electronic transfers.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that this method will ensure faster distribution of cash aid during the pandemic.

For the second tranche, 12 million families previously identified as beneficiaries and an additional 5 million new households will receive assistance.

The government aims to improve efficiency by using electronic payments for those still under quarantine restrictions.
