DILG prepared to enforce new rules if Metro Manila shifts to Alert Level 2

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is prepared to enforce new regulations if Metro Manila shifts from Alert Level 3 to Alert Level 2, as COVID-19 cases continue to decline.

DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya said the decision rests with the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19.

Metro Manila mayors are ready for the shift, citing a downward trend in cases over the past two weeks, increased vaccinations, and additional police deployment.
