Salceda proposes one-week NCR lockdown, House minority opposes

Albay Representative Joey Salceda has proposed a one-week lockdown in Metro Manila to prevent the spread of COVID-19 following new cases reported in Quezon City, Pasig, and Marikina.

Salceda suggested suspending classes, work, bus trips, domestic flights, and closing major expressways during this period.

The House Minority bloc, led by Benny Abante, opposes the lockdown proposal, arguing it would harm the economy as NCR is the economic center of the country.
