DBM cannot commit to fund release by Friday for Odette-hit areas

President Duterte ordered the release of funds from his office to aid communities affected by Typhoon Odette, promising distribution on or before Friday.

DBM Acting Secretary Tina Canda said Wednesday that no commitment can be made regarding the exact date and amount for fund distribution as assessments are still ongoing.

Duterte assured the public that the government is doing its best to address the needs of those affected by the typhoon despite depleted funds due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
