Comelec extends voter signup hours starting Aug. 23

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced extended voter registration hours starting August 23, with daily registration from 8 am to 7 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and holidays until September 30.

Previously, Comelec only accepted registrations until 5 pm on weekdays.

Despite calls from lawmakers and youth groups to extend the voter registration deadline by another month due to pandemic-related suspensions, Comelec declined citing it would affect their election preparations.
