Youth groups petition Comelec to extend voter reg period

More than 60 youth groups petitioned Comelec on Thursday to extend voter registration period due to strict lockdowns.

The groups aim for all eligible voters to participate in the 2022 elections without being left behind.

First Time Voter Network convener Gladys Milioga highlighted that only 49 days remain until the September 30 deadline and many potential voters cannot register due to ongoing lockdowns.

Senator Risa Hontiveros also supported the call for an extension in a recorded message during the virtual briefing.
