Cignal secures top seeds in Spikers' Turf Open Conference

Defending champion Cignal secured their place as top seeds in the Spikers' Turf Open Conference eliminations by sweeping Maverick on Friday at Ynares Sports Arena.

Bryan Bagunas, who recently returned from Taiwan with his Taiwanese club Win Streak, contributed 10 points including two aces to lead Cignal to victory alongside Mark Frederick Calado's 13 points.

Coach Dexter Clamor emphasized that despite their strong performance in eliminations, Cignal will reset their mindset for the semifinals to ensure peak performance, noting the importance of maintaining morale and momentum.

Cignal's win marks their fifth consecutive sweep of the preliminaries since 2016 (Open), 2019 (Open), 2023 (Open), and last year’s Invitational Conference.

Criss Cross secured second place in eliminations by defeating Savouge Aesthetics, while PGJC-Navy and D'Navigators completed the semifinals cast with defending champion Cignal.
