Cignal HD beats PLTD, secures crucial win

Cignal HD lost their match against PLDT but secured a crucial victory in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Saturday, April 20, with scores of 24-26, 26-24, 25-17, and 28-26 at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

Despite being eliminated earlier in the day, Cignal HD played their best, securing a win that impacted the standings, with Jovelyn Gonzaga contributing 16 points through 11 attacks, three blocks, and two aces.

This victory sent PLDT to the outside looking in for the Final Four; they are now mathematically in contention but need to defeat Galeries Tower Highrisers and Creamline Cool Smashers to have a chance at advancing.

Ces Molina added 15 points and up-and-coming player Vanie Gandler contributed 12 points, while Ge Cayuna delivered 19 excellent sets to support Cignal's offense.

PLDT’s Savi Davison scored a game-high 29 points but the team lost; PLDT will face Creamline on April 25 for a postseason berth while Cignal HD will play Capital1 on April 27.
