Umandal leads Cignal HD to 5-set win over VNS-Nasty, extends unbeaten streak to 7 games

Jau Umandal led Cignal HD to a hard-fought five-set victory against VNS-Nasty on Wednesday at Paco Arena in Manila, extending their unbeaten run to seven games and inching closer to a sweep of the 2024 Spikers' Turf Open Conference eliminations.

Despite giving significant minutes to his backup roster early, Coach Dexter Clamor reverted to his first six players who secured the victory with key performances from Umandal and JP Bugaoan.

Umandal scored an impressive 11 points in three sets, including a pivotal run that gave Cignal a crucial lead, while Madz Gampong top-scored with 17 points.

Cignal HD will face Maverick tomorrow (Friday) at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig to solidify their momentum heading into the semifinals.

VNS-Nasty, despite key performances from Kenneth Culabat and Rocky Motol, fell to a 2-5 record and remains sixth in the standings.
