China to donate 500K Covid-19 vaccine doses to PH

Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian confirmed on Monday that half a million doses of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) vaccines will be donated by the Chinese government.

The pledge was made during Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to the country on Saturday, where he informed Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. of China’s intention to donate 500,000 doses of vaccines in support of the Philippines' immunization program.

While no specific brand or delivery timeline has been finalized, Huang stated that discussions are ongoing with Philippine officials.
