Odette causes P3B agri damage across 10 regions

Typhoon Odette has caused nearly P3 billion in agricultural damage across 10 regions as of Wednesday, December 22.

The Department of Agriculture (DA) reported PHP852.47 million in standby funds for immediate support to typhoon-affected farmers, including rice and corn seeds.

Caraga region's DA office has assured farmers of immediate aid with over 400 sacks of standby rice seeds ready for distribution.

Damage includes crops like rice, corn, high-value crops, livestock, and fisheries, impacting around 33,389 farmers and fisherfolk.

Food supply remains stable in some regions but transport issues are reported in areas such as Batangas, Palawan, Surigao del Sur, and ports in Soccsksargen.
