Cateel declares state of calamity due to Agaton

The Sangguniang Bayan of Cateel declared a state of calamity on Friday due to Tropical Depression Agaton.

The declaration allows the use of 5% of the calamity fund for relief assistance and infrastructure repair.

Several families were evacuated, and an 83-year-old person drowned in floodwaters last Wednesday.

A bridge in Barangay Maglahus collapsed, isolating the area and prompting the local government to provide relief goods.
