Bohol Odette death toll reaches 109

Bohol's Typhoon Odette death toll reached 109 as of Wednesday, with the latest fatality from Pres. Carlos P. Garcia town, bringing its total to six deaths.

Most casualties were in Talibon and Ubay, each recording 14 deaths.

Governor Arthur Yap stated that compared to Super Typhoon Yolanda which claimed over 6,300 lives in 2013, the current death toll is relatively low given Odette's severity.

Yap attributed lower fatalities to early forced evacuations and proactive mayor actions.

As of Monday, Bohol recorded 108 deaths, 12 missing persons, and 1,946 injuries from Typhoon Odette.
