19 die, over 120 hospitalized in Siargao due to diarrhea

At least 19 people died and more than 120 were hospitalized due to diarrhea in Siargao Island after Typhoon Odette.

Surigao del Norte Governor Francisco Matugas reported that the local government is struggling to provide safe drinking water, as transporting it is difficult.

The island remains without electricity and access to water refilling stations, complicating relief efforts.

Matugas called for donations of medicines and dextrose to aid those affected by the outbreak.
