BCPO seizes PHP9.6M worth of shabu during MassKara Festival ops

Over PHP9.6 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) drug enforcement teams over the weekend during intensified security operations for the MassKara Festival.

Two buy-bust operations on Sunday night and early Monday morning yielded a total of PHP6.8 million in shabu, according to police reports.

Col. Joeresty Coronica, city police director, stated that these efforts aim to reduce illegal drug supply during the festival from October 12 to 27 and called for increased port inspections by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to deter further distribution of drugs.

Early Monday morning, operatives arrested two suspects who yielded 500 grams of shabu worth PHP3.4 million in Purok Rose, Barangay 9.

In a separate operation around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, police seized another 500 grams of shabu valued at the same amount from suspect alias 'Biboy' in Hollowblocks, Barangay Singcang-Airport.
