DA gives free seeds for home gardening

The Department of Agriculture is distributing free vegetable seeds and seedlings across the country to encourage residents to grow their own food during the enhanced community quarantine.

BPI, a bureau under the Department of Agriculture, offers various types of seeds such as kang kong, okra, pechay, and mustard for pickup in Quezon City and Malate from Monday to Friday.

Baguio City's Veterinary Office-Agricultural Services Division is also distributing vegetable seeds to barangays to help residents establish 'survival gardens' at home.

The initiative aims to provide a sustainable food source during the quarantine period, addressing concerns over food supply amid panic buying.
