Catamco orders local farm products for quarantine supply

North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco has ordered the procurement of locally-produced farm products, such as rice and vegetables, for constituents affected by the coronavirus crisis.

Catamco emphasized buying local produce to support farmers and ensure a steady market for them during lockdowns.

She also pushed for home-based gardening initiatives, providing seeds, knowledge, and technology to encourage residents to grow their own food.

The governor assured that these measures comply with government procurement laws and aim to combat potential food shortages and panic-buying.
